* WORK. Capitalism Economics Resistance.A high energy workshop by members of Crimethinc.  based on their new book WORK. After so much technological progress, why do we have to work more than ever before? How is it that the harder we work, the poorer we end up compared to our bosses? When the economy crashes, why do people focus on protecting their jobs when no one likes working in the first place? Can capitalism survive another century of crises? Our newest book, entitled Work, addresses these questions and a great many more. To answer them, we had to revisit our previous analysis of employment and develop a more nuanced understanding of the economy. We spent months studying obscure history and comparing notes about how we experience exploitation in our daily lives, slowly hammering out a grand unified theory of contemporary capitalism.

Hardy is the author or co-author of ten books about alternative sexualities, including The Ethical Slut (with Dossie Easton), sometimes called “the bible of polyamory,” with nearly 100,000 copies in print. * Flowers In The Sidewalk a presentation by Adam LaBelle: Living in community housing situations has played a major and vital role in my life. Over the years I have lived with over 60 different people in a number of houses of varying character and locale. I will be talking about the advantages of community living, what forms it can take and the over all positive experiences it can provide us with. I co-wrote a book with a former roommate that focuses on one such experience. "Flowers In The Sidewalk is about a punk house in Santa Rosa,CA during the 90’s and the people that made it a hive of creativity, political involvement and social awareness; a place of joyous, yet sometimes detrimental, chaos and a little bit of insanity as well. All the things that make a place and time more memorable. -Adam LaBelle.
