FAIRFIELD - Talk of a second gang injunction in Fairfield has returned to the political arena.
Councilwoman Catherine Moy asked her colleagues Tuesday at the City Council meeting to join her in pursuing an injunction against the Surenos, a criminal street gang with a healthy local membership.
With Councilman John Mraz prepared to second her motion to discuss the issue at a subsequent council meeting, the move was halted by Police Chief Walt Tibbet.
A conversational misunderstanding had led Moy to believe he wanted another injunction, Tibbet said.
