Dozens of East Bay teachers picketed on February 7, 2012 the Oakland appearance of education privatizer and union buster Michelle Rhee. According to teachers she is a "corporate whore" who is funded by Eli Broad and the Gates Foundation to push privatization. Her husband Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson who also runs a private charter St. Hope Charter Academy funded by the public. She was involved in attacking the teachers in Washington D.C. and pushing more testing benefiting Pearson Inc. and other organizations profiting from privatization.
